Terms of service

In short

These terms explain the rules for using SecureInterview. By creating an account or using our service, you agree to them.

SecureInterview is operated by SecureInterview Ltd. If you're signing up for a company, you're agreeing to these terms on behalf of that company.

1. What SecureInterview does

SecureInterview provides video meetings in a web browser, with audio, video and screen sharing, for interviews. On the Free plan a meeting lasts up to 30 minutes.

2. What SecureInterview doesn't do

We don't record meetings, so we can't give you a copy of one. On Pro, a host can record a meeting to their own device. That file never reaches us. A meeting depends on each person's browser, device and connection, which we don't control. All hiring decisions are yours.

3. Your account

An account opens with a work email address. You're responsible for keeping access to your account secure and for anything that happens under it. Each person on your team needs their own seat on your plan. Please don't share one account between several people.

4. Using SecureInterview fairly

Only use SecureInterview for meetings you're allowed to run, and follow the employment and data protection laws that apply to you and the people you meet. If you record a meeting, with Record or with your own tools, tell everyone in it first and get any consent the law asks for. While a host records with Record, everyone in the meeting is shown "Recording". Don't use the service to send anything unlawful, and don't try to disrupt it or get around its limits.

5. Payment and cancellation

Pro is billed in advance, monthly or yearly, at one price for your organization, through Stripe.

If a payment fails, the plan keeps working for up to 21 days while Stripe tries the card again.

You can cancel at any time, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Payments are not refunded, except where the law requires it.

6. Your meetings

What is said and shown in a meeting belongs to the people in it. We pass it between them and keep none of it.

7. Our responsibility

We work hard to keep SecureInterview running smoothly, but we provide it "as is". As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for hiring decisions or indirect losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you've paid us in the last 12 months.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make an important change, we'll let you know before it takes effect.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

10. Questions

If you have any questions about these terms, email us at [email protected] or use our contact form.

Privacy policy

In short

This policy explains what information SecureInterview collects, why we collect it and how long we keep it. We've tried to keep it short and easy to read.

When a company opens an account, we email what was entered on the registration form to our staff, so they know who has joined.

Meetings

Audio, video, shared screens and chat messages pass through our servers to the other people in the meeting. They are encrypted in transit, and we don't record, store or transcribe them.

On Pro, the host can record a meeting to their own device. The recording is made in the host's browser and saved there. It is not sent to us, and the host is responsible for it. Everyone in the meeting is shown "Recording" while it runs.

The meeting page uses your camera, your microphone and your screen only after your browser has asked you, and only while you are in the meeting. You can turn each of them off at any time.

A candidate needs no account. We keep nothing about a candidate beyond the name they typed, for the length of the meeting, and their IP address as described above.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us. We keep the Stripe customer and subscription references, so we know which plan you're on.

How your information is stored

Your information is stored by our hosting provider. Backups are kept for seven days.

Two other companies help us provide the service: our hosting provider, which runs the service and stores its data, and Stripe, which handles payments.

Cookies

We use four cookies, all our own. One keeps you signed in: it's set when you sign in and removed when you sign out. One ties a sign-in code to the browser that asked for it, and lasts thirty minutes. One ties a sign-in through your company's identity provider to the browser that started it, and lasts ten minutes. One lets you finish the registration form once your address is confirmed, and lasts thirty minutes. We don't use advertising cookies or anyone else's cookies, which is why you won't see a cookie banner on our site.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. To do any of these, email us at [email protected] or use our contact form.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
