SecureInterview is a video interview that runs in the browser. This article sets out what SecureInterview does in an interview, from the moment you start one to the end of the call, so you know what you and your candidate will see.

Starting an interview

You start on the home page with your work email. We send a six-digit code to that address, and the code opens your account and your room. Use the address your company gave you, because free addresses such as Gmail or Outlook, and temporary addresses, cannot open an account. No card is asked for.

There is nothing to install. The interview runs in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, on a computer or a phone.

Inviting the candidate

Each meeting has its own ten-digit number and a passcode, and the invitation link carries both. You send the candidate that link. They open it in a browser and type a name. A candidate needs no account, no email address and no download.

During the call

The meeting has video, a shared screen and chat. Anyone in the meeting can share a window or a whole screen. Sharing needs a computer, because phone browsers do not offer it. Each person sets the quality of the video they send, from Data saver up to Full HD at 1080p, or leaves it on Auto.

The chat is in the panel beside the video. Everyone in the meeting sees what is written there. It is not stored, so a person who joins later does not see earlier messages.

Audio, video and shared screens are encrypted in transit.

Who can be in the room

On the Free plan a meeting takes 3 people and lasts 30 minutes from the moment the first person joins. The meeting shows the time left and closes when it runs out, and you can start another one straight away.

On Pro a meeting takes up to 16 people and has no time limit. Up to 10 more can join as spectators through a link of their own. Spectators see and hear the meeting and are not seen or heard, and everyone in the meeting is shown who is watching. A hiring manager can follow an interview this way without joining the panel.

Pro is one price for the whole organization, with seats for your team. A seat is a member of your team or an open invitation to it, and candidates are never counted. Pro also has an audit log, session limits, verified domains and SCIM. Enterprise adds more seats, single sign-on and support with agreed reply times. The plans page has the prices.

Recording

We do not record meetings. Audio, video and shared screens are passed to the people in the meeting and are not stored, and nothing is transcribed.

On Pro the host can record a meeting to their own device with Record, under the video. Everyone in the meeting sees "Recording" while it runs, and the file stays on the host's device.

Ending the call

The host can end the meeting for everyone. Nothing is stored when it ends.

Where to go next

How it works shows the same steps in four pictures, and the FAQ answers questions about browsers, seats and plans. To try it, start an interview with your work email.
